This benefit appearance is dedicated to the real survivors of war, genocide and natural disasters. You can meet me and Terry Deitz from Survivor Panama. I was a former Simsbury resident and Terry lives in Simsbury.
“Cancer is a reality and so is a cure.” My 56 year old brother, Chris, died of cancer this year so I have organized a big, fun, awesome “Cancer Sucks Reality Cheering Station” in his memory to provide a boost to the 6500 walkers who will be walking in the three day 60 mile Susan G. Komen walk this weekend (Nov. 21/22) in San Diego.
Many of you have asked Gillian how to vote for her as Player of the Season. Gillian’s webmaster (me) has put together instructions for you! Voting ends at 11:59:59 a.m. PT on Dec. 14 (today). That’s 3 p.m. ET for those of you on the east coast.
Possibly the only fun about being booted was the hours on the phone with the Press from all over the world. I literally spent six hours one day doing phone interviews with many U.S websites, magazines and online magazines. Another day 3 hrs talking to 12 radio stations across the USA one of which newsfeeds to over 1,700 stations.
Then interviews with Canada, Australia, Israel, Phillipines, New Zealand and Singapore. Now how much fun was that! I have found some of the interviews by “googling” and here they are. I have loved sharing my experience so here is more!
Another video from the Survivor Web site featuring Gillian.
If you missed the Survivor premiere shows on Thursday night, you can watch the both episodes any time you’d like at the CBS Web site. After the show, Survivor posts additional video clips with expanded and hidden scenes. Here are three videos with expanded coverage of tribal council and video of Gillian after she was voted out.
What an interesting experience this has been. For those of you who didn’t watch Survivor last night, my mom was voted out second! The house has been eerily quiet today despite being filled with family.
My sister and I think it is one of those things where people aren’t sure what to say. I assure you though, we are all OK with the results of the show last night. We have had a few months to adjust to it whereas many of you are going through the thoughts and emotions we felt when we first learned of the outcome.
I can still picture the night we picked her up from her journey to Gabon and hearing a few moments later how and when her journey had ended. I felt sad for the disappointment I was sure she was feeling. This was a quest she had set out on so long ago and it hadn’t ended the way she had planned. It was impossible to remain sad or disappointed for her for long though because it was much more important to focus on what she accomplished rather than what she didn’t accomplish.
This is the first post concerning my travel adventures.
This is the first post for the family category of the blog.
